Mia

This is our other cat, Mia.  She is the oldest of our pets and she is 12 years old which is 91 years old in cat years.  She is my Mum's cat and she is a Lilac Burmese.  We didn't get her from a shelter but got her from a breeder.  Unlike the other one Mia doesn't hate me.

Ginger aka Binny aka Bean.

Hi,  I've already done a post about the dog so I figured the cats might feel left out.

Here is the youngest one Ginger.  She is around 3 years old and belongs to my little sister.  We got her from the rescue center at Ingleside after she was found in a pile of clothes behind a charity bin at a shopping mall.  She is very shy and kind of hates me haha.  If you are interested in adopting a pet that needs a home you can find a list of shelters here:  http://www.petrescue.com.au

Audrey aka Dee Dee

This is our dog Audrey.  She is a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and we think she is around 2 years old.  We got her 6 months ago from a woman who had adopted her from a rescue shelter but she couldn't keep her because her male Staffy was a bully and much bigger than Audrey and he was beating her up all the time.  She can be a bit silly and we love her very much.  Here she is wearing my hat.  She doesn't mind too much when we dress her up.

Lots of people think that Staffies are aggressive but they are commonly known as the Nanny dog and they are very sweet and nurturing towards people and especially children.  When we are sick she sits close and takes care of us and makes us feel better.

Easy Peasy Chocolate Banana Cake

Okay - I don't know exact measurments so it's a rough recipe and don't blame me if it doesn't work out.

1 cup s.r. flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 pinch of salt
add cocoa and sugar to taste - I use around 2 flat tbsp cocoa and 3 heaped tbsp sugar
1 egg
1 mushed up banana
If needed add a splash of milk (add in small amounts so you don't make it too runny because then you will have to add more flour and might get lumps).

What to do...

Put it all into a big bowl and stir it up with a wooden spoon - we don't use machines here but you could.

Then cook it at a moderate temperature and check after 10 minutes.  It probably takes around 20 minutes to be done.  You want the top to be starting to get crispy but the middle still gooey.

Great with cream and fresh strawberries and even better with homemade vanilla icecream.

It is really nice warm from the oven.

This is my original recipe.  Use it but please don't copy it as your own or I will hunt you down and bake you.

Photography

Hi, I'm back.  Today my Dad promised to loan me his brand new camera YAY! (he hasn't even bought it yet) to use for my next photography project which is joining other photographers and journalists recording the fun and activity at the Homeschool Athletics Carnival next week.  It will be awesome.  I can't wait to see how the newsletter turns out and I can't wait to try the new Camera.  It's waterproof so if it rains that won't be the worst thing.  Now I just have to keep it safe for the whole day.  Yikes.  I'll have to practice first.  It arrives at the end of this week so I have time to try it out.  Goodby for now.

Welcome

Hi, Thanks for visiting my blog.  I hope to post about photography and do lots of movie and book reviews f rom the perspective of an unschooler.  I will also post my own recipes that I have been working on.  I'm new at this so don't be upset if I don't post much.
